This first-generation Equi=Tech power supply is very similar to the current Equi=Tech Model 1.5R product which sells for $3,000 to $3,200. This product uses the same massive iron-core toroidal transformer and is rated at the same 1.5 KVA output but uses a standard industrial electrical box with two outlets instead of 12. It weighs just over 70 lbs. and provides the same dead-silent AC power.

Description
The Equitech model 1.5kVA “Transformer in a Box” has a 1500 watt capacity and plugs into any standard 15-amp 120-volt wall outlet, providing world class balanced power isolating your audio from line noise and other problems with dirty power that can effect sound quality and noise floor. Construction utilizes a heavy-gauge steel industrial electrical box designed for both vertical wall mount or horizontal shelf placement. On the back panel, there are 2 GFCI -protected outlets provided. A hardwired heavy-duty power cord plugs into any standard US 15 amp grounded 120 VAC power outlet.
At its core, Balanced AC is 120V split evenly across 2 AC mains. These 2 AC mains are exactly 180 degrees out of phase across the load, with one at +60V and the other at -60V. The sum results in pure 120V. The same pure 120V and frequency that your equipment was designed to operate under as the reference potential (ground) has been located to the midpoint between the two mains, so there is no “neutral” wire. The effect created is Common Mode Rejection and cancels the differences between legs such as noise, hums, ground loops and other unwanted distortions that may affect your sound. Plug your components in as before and you’ll enjoy 100% balanced power of cleaner, pure 60Hz sine wave power.
In simple terms, balanced power is a process that eliminates noise or distortion from incoming electrical current. Before the initial utility power hits your components, balanced power ensures you have the cleanest, most pure power by affecting the current itself. Balanced power is not conditioning power or adding “EQ’ing” to remove noise. Rather, balanced power eliminates that noise before you ever hear or notice it.
Due to the high weight (70 lbs), we suggest local Denver-area pickup. We highly suggest bringing two strong people to move this up stairs and into your vehicle.
