Denver International SchoolHouse is a private Spanish immersion preschool for children ages 2 to 6 years old. Our primary mission is to create bilingual learners to lead in a more globalized world. The school was founded in 2005 and has expanded to its new location in Southeast Aurora. We're seeking dedicated teachers that aren't afraid to guide students beyond State and Federal standards.
The Assistant Preschool teacher will be responsible for but not limited to the safety, general welfare, teaching, academic achievement, and overall wellness of students assigned to their classroom. Teachers will co-develop lesson plans with the Executive Director that fit the schools curriculum, methodology, and pedagogy. Responsibilities will also include working together with the lead teacher in your classroom, parent interaction, evaluations, and special presentations.
Coordinate and implement the DIS curriculum by developing age appropriate lesson plans in conjunction with the lead teacher
Engage with children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth
Produce measurable growth among students
Maintain frequent communications with parents through daily contact, progress reports and parent conferences
Ensure that State regulations and procedures are adhered to
2 early childhood education college courses or CO Early Childhood Level 1 credential
Native Spanish Speaker
Able to work year round
Experience working with or around preschool aged children
A love for teaching children
Strong oral communication skills
Ability to integrate technology into teaching - i.e tablets and computers
Must be able to pass CBI background check
Bachelors degree- preferred in Early Childhood or Elementary Education, or emphasis
Prior experience teaching in an immersion school, or private or public Kindergarten
