1987 VW Vanagon Westfalia Camper
182,729 Miles
$34,000 obo
It pains me to sell this member of our family. However, we have three young grandchildren, and unfortunately, all of us camping together in this wonderful vehicle would be a tad cramped. So, we have purchased a larger camper and need to send this one down the road with someone who will enjoy it as much as we have.
I’ve owned it for about seven years and I have all the repair and upgrade records for the last 12 years. The person who owned it before me installed over $35,000 of upgrades.
Here is a partial list-
Vanagon 2.45 L MT engine
2WD 5spd. Manual transaxle-the extra low gear and lift kit make it the next best thing to a Syncro
16” Alloy wheel and tire package. I put four new tires on it less than 2000 miles ago
New carpet
Engle 43 Qt. fridge/freezer
Refrigerator elimination kit/shelves
Heavy duty truck mirrors
Auxiliary reverse light
Auxiliary battery kit
New coil springs
Lift Kit
New clutch pedal assembly
Stainless steel coolant pipe set
Heavy Duty Bumpers
Vano swing arms on bumpers
Hi -lift Jack
Stainless exhaust kit
Recaro front seats-these cost $1600 apiece and are so comfortable
Storage box
Awning
Outdoor shower
And tons of smaller repairs and upgrades
I have replaced-
Tires, Starter, Alternator, Fuel pump, Ignition switch, Fuel Tank, 4 CV boots
The tachometer and radio are not currently working.
It looks and runs great, and is a really fun way to explore the great outdoors.
I paid $37,000 and I am asking $34,000 obo
