1982 Toyota Supra 3.0L Turbo. Will need new battery and fuel tank/bypass to run.
TL;DR - 2 owner 1982 Toyota Celica Supra with a rebuilt 1991 7M-GTE 3.0 Liter turbo swap (approx. 40k miles on rebuild). Rebuilt W58 Transmission. 57 trim CT26 turbo dynoed at 304 Horsepower and 338 Torque. Has been in storage for approx. 10 years, but ran when last parked. Will need drivers side motor mount, drivers front tire, valve cover gaskets, battery, and a new gas tank due to rust from sitting. Further explanation on this car I've owned for 15+ years below.
The motor is a 1991 7M-GTE 3.0L turbo out of a mk3 supra. It was rebuilt with all new parts from Engine & Performance Warehouse in Denver. This included a metal head gasket and ARP head studs (known weak point of the 7M). Machine work done at All-Pro in Denver. Transmission (W58) was rebuilt by A1 Transmission in Denver and new upgraded clutch and pressure plate were installed. Wiring harness done professionally by Tweak'd performance in South Carolina. At the time the rebuild cost approx. $4500ish total - probably $8000+ worth of parts now.
This was a fantastic car that I planned to keep and eventually restore further, but it has been sitting for almost 10 years and I don't see myself getting to it anytime soon. It is being sold as a classic that will need work to be reliable and road worthy again - bring a trailer! It will run no problem once the fuel tank is swapped or bypassed with a fuel cell.
The car definitely has some cosmetic issues being almost 45 years old. Rust in the rear quarter panels and wheel wells. Some paint chipping and fading throughout. Interior is faded and the dash is cracked. Some carpet is frayed and very fragile.
The mechanical stuff I can remember off the top of my head is; The drivers side motor mount had something janky with the bolt and will need to be replaced/looked at. The valve cover gaskets definitely leak and will require replacing. The fuel tank definitely had fuel in it when the car was parked and will be a rusty mess now. Expect to replace the walbro 255 pump and either change the gas tank or install a fuel cell in the trunk. The drivers side tire is also not holding air for more than about an hour. I don't recall the clutch slipping prior to parking the car, but I think the best aftermarket disk at the time was barely rated for how much power the car was making. Car does not have a battery in it currently either.
I am leaving this car as-is currently because someone may want it for the classic value and may not want me swapping parts further to make it a runner.
I am in no rush to sell this car at all and will gladly reminisce and look at it in my driveway for years. Not negotiating on the price at all - $4000 cash or please look at other cars.
