This car has been recently repaired to nearly new. It's a quiet ride, comfortable, and has spacious seating. It smells good and has been kept clean. The features included (trim) are the SE level with sunroof and navigation and are listed below. This car belongs to my Mom (who will be present at the sale).

2012 Tiguan rates a 4.2 on KBB and a 4.0 on Edmunds overall, noted for its composed ride and handling, visibitily, engine ability, and build quality. It has a rating of 80/100 from J.D. Power - higher than the industry average. U.S. News and World Report give it a 7.8 out of 10 overall, rating high in atheltic performance and reliability. This car handles well, with smooth turns, braking, and acceleration - and can pack a punch when needed. It features a moon roof that lifts for airflow, and is perfect for leaving open during Denver's hot summers. It is also equipped with Blue tooth enabled radio features, and is Sirius XM capable.

It is a great car, and my Mom loved driving it; however, some negative memories have led her to sell.

What you should know:
This car has had a recently repaired engine, following an oil change failure that led to it being driven with no oil and ultimately melted the pistons. These were remachined and the engine was rebuilt, but due to a deteriorated relationship with the mechanic, other damage was done to the vehicle after the engine was rebuilt. Since then, over $10,000 has been put into this car to repair it over 2 years and return it to pristine condition; unfortunately, some general maintenance items remain. In the most recent visit to a local (new) mechanic the following repairs were performed:
> New Turbo Charger
> New Timing Belt
> New Water Pump
> Replaced PCV Valve Assembly
> Right Front CV Axle replaced
> Serpentine Belt Replaced
> Engine Degreased and Oil leak isolated (See below for remaining repairs)

They identified the following remaining repairs/maintenance:
> Battery Replacement: Battery was identified as needing replacement, as it was reading low - but the vehicle had been sitting idle for about 3 months prior to this visit and we believe the battery is fine (driving it for 30 minutes alleviated any concern).
> Replace Front breakpads: Per the mechanics notes "Tech noted that looks like pads were recently replaced without replacing rotors. Rotors are extremely rusted and heated, causing grinding noise. Recommend replacement of pads and motors immediately." We believe it did appear this way - the vehicle had been sitting unused for ~3 months through the rainy season and the rust is from that. Some driving and breaking got rid of the grinding noise; but there could still be a need for this work.
> Front Lower Control Arms: Front Lower Control Arms - both front lower control arm bushings are cracked and are recommended for replacement.
> Alignment: Alignment check was recommended based on mileage; however, tires are relatively new and alignment was performed on purchase.
> Flush - Differential Service - based on mileage, maintenance
> Flush - Brake Service - based on mileage, maintenance
> Flush - Transfer Case Service - based on mileage, maintenance
> Leaking Oil: The engine has a small oil leak while running. Inspection and Isolation from the mechanic determined it was most likely coming from the timing cover or the oil pan, but the investigation wasn't completed. This has an effect of occasionally splashing a small amount of oil onto the engine block when the car's been on a while and a bump is hit, causing slight oil burning off the engine and brief smoke. This has been observed twice, it goes away quickly.

In all, the total cost of the remaining repairs is around $2000, which is accounted for in the price ask.
