This 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC is not just a car, it is a rolling testament to the brilliance of German engineering. With 341,000 original miles and a Mercedes-issued 500,000-kilometer high-mileage certificate, this SLC has earned its place among the legends.
Despite the mileage, this coupe remains in remarkably pristine condition, a true survivor that has stood the test of time with grace. From its classic pillarless design to the solid V8 powertrain, everything about this car tells a story of durability, craftsmanship, and care.
The SLC features a wheelbase approximately 14 inch longer than the convertible SL, affording room for rear seats.
The replacement 4.5-liter M117 V8 and three-speed automatic transmission were installed under prior ownership. The cylinder heads were replaced in 2009 and the fuel injectors were replaced in April 2022.
Finished in Astral Silver over black leather upholstery, equipment includes polished 14″ Bundt alloy wheels, fog lights, power windows, air conditioning, chrome bumpers, polished aluminum trim, and an aftermarket CD stereo. This 450SLC is now offered with manufacturers literature, repair manuals, a copy of the data card, service records, and car cover.
The car is equipped with polished 14 inch Bundt alloy wheels and four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes. The front brake pads and rotors were replaced along with the rear brake pads in February 2021.
The front and rear seats are upholstered in black leather and are joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include front seat headrests and armrests, air conditioning, and an aftermarket CD stereo.
The Nardi steering wheel wears a perforated wrap and frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and instant fuel economy. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 341k miles.
