The Millimeter is a scaled down version of the 12 Meter sailboats that were used in the America's Cup from the late 1950's through the late 1980's. This particular boat is #235 of approximately 400 that were manufactured in the mid 80's. The boat for sale was manufactured in June 1984. The boat looks and sails very similarly to the more prevalent 2.4mR class. It is incredibly sturdy and resilient against strong winds, with a 200+ pound fixed keel with removable lead weights, yet very responsive and agile. Many Millimeters still in existence are found at the Encinal Yacht Club in Alameda, California, where weekly races still occur among this class. Reference https://millimeter.org/ for additional information about the class.

The Millimeter is a single-person vessel that is suited for experienced sailors and new sailors alike. The boat includes all rigging and is ready to sail, with a huge genoa jib and a mylar main sail. All lines and sheets are in very good shape and the boat is garage-kept. The rudder is controlled with foot pedals and all sheets are routed to the cockpit. A bilge pump is located in the cockpit, in front of the sailor, so water can be hand pumped out while under sail.

Setup and breakdown tends to be simple. Within minutes, you can raise and secure the mast and prep the boat for sail before launching it. This can be done by a single sailor with practice but is most easily done as a team of two.

The boat includes a custom trailer, both of which come with title.
