A man murdered in a graveyard parking lot is found by Private Investigator Virgil Cook only 30 minutes after he is hired by the man's sister. The man's mother resides in a nearby assisted living facility where a sinister plot is unfolding. After an innocent man is framed, an employee of the facility dies under suspicious circumstances. Outraged neighbors of Academy Assisted Living protest and shortly thereafter the facility's power goes out followed by the death of a mysterious resident. As Virgil pulls out all the stops to determine who's behind the diabolical plot, a U.S. Marshall imbeds himself in the investigation. Complex investigations are Virgil's specialty but he's not prepared for the chilling phone call he receives from his wife.
