Old, turn of the 20th century book, done into English by Edward FitzGerald, published by Astolat Press and David McKay, London and Philadelphia. This was first published in1859 and was one of the most popular poems in the English language. The covers are a bit tattered and water-stained, but fully intact, as is the binding. This small, reddish/brown book is bound in leather and only measures 2-1/4" x 3-1/2". The binding is engraved in gold letters with Omar Khayyam. There is a signature in pencil on the cover page, by the presumed former owner, "Adelaide Gilman" I believe. It has 82 old pages in pretty good shape!
