π History & Upgrades
I bought this bike secondhand in 2018 for $1,450. The original bright yellow/blue colorway wasnβt my style, so I stripped it down and repainted it with black epoxy and clear coat β a ~50-hour project that has held up beautifully.
For the first year and a half, I mainly converted it from 2Γ10 to 1Γ10 (46 T) and had the stock rear shock rebuilt a couple of times. After damaging the rear wheel, I upgraded to a Race Face ARC30 with Vault hub with 104 points of engagement.
In 2020, I fully overhauled the bike:
Replaced all frame bearings
Upgraded dropper post and drivetrain (to SRAM NX)
Swapped the problematic stock rear shock for a Marzocchi Bomber Coil with Cane Creek progressive springs (two included)
Replaced the RockShox Pike with a 170 mm Yari + Push coil conversion, plus two extra coil springs to dial in your preferred rate.
Completed a durable black epoxy paint job and clear coat.
If youβve never ridden coil suspension, youβll be blown away by how plush yet supportive this setup is. The small-bump sensitivity and mid-stroke support are phenomenal.
β‘ 2022 Upgrade Finale
In 2022, I further upgraded the fork with a premium Avalanche Racing damper, taking performance from βgreatβ to βexceptional.β Combined with the Push coil, this fork eats roots, jumps, and drops like nothing else. I was keeping pace with friends on bikes 5Γ the cost β even downhill rigs at the bike park.
I also replaced the brakes with Magura MT7 front / MT5 rear, paired with the largest rotors that fit. The MT5 rear brake gives incredible one-finger modulation in the rear, and the Shigura setup (Saint lever + MT7 caliper) is an extremely powerful front brake setup. Stopping power is night and day compared to stock.
Iβm 5'10", 165 lb, and ride aggressively β this bike is tuned perfectly for my weight, but spring swaps take 5 minutes, making it easy to adjust for heavier or lighter riders.
β€οΈ Why Iβm Selling
It honestly breaks my heart to let this bike go. But between my enduro e-bike, XC bike, and my wifeβs bike, garage space is maxed out. I didnβt ride it once this year, and it deserves to be ridden.
Iβm selling it for the same $1,450 I paid in 2018 β despite putting a couple thousand dollars into upgrades over the years. This is a very fair price for what youβre getting.
