This lamp was purchased at an estate sale in 1973 and has been in storage until now.
Picked up in Cherry Creek neighborhood from a large corner mansion that had belonged to a lamp maker and designer with well over 600 lights in the house.
As back stock for my mom’s antique store, it would have been nice to get this sold long ago.
However, mom is 82 and closed in 2005, so this unit has to go.
No date or markings on this lamp can be found.
Lamp has a cast iron heavy duty base estimated to be between 90 to 110 years old.
This lamp stem is larger then newer lamps for very thick copper lines to be run that was phased out in the 1930s.
No shade was on it when found, so a shade was chosen out of older stock.
The lamp shade is re-made and was done in 1992 by a professional seamstress from an old frame that was needing to be redone. The original lamp shade was made in the 1930’s and had to be completely redone.
A newer cord with inline switch has been added along with lamp socket cleaning as well.
Lamp comes with new 40 watt incandescent light bulb.
Base of lamp measures 13 inches tall and 5 inches by 5 inches squared.
Shade is 6 inches tall to make total lamp height 19 inches.
