condition: excellent
Classic American aesthetic, petite "secrétaire à abattant", recently removed from the Broadmoor Hotel.

Features 2 locking storage spaces, as well as a drop down writing surface. The only missing element are the support chains, easily replaced.
All original keys are present.

The exterior is ebonized wood, common in late 19th-century Neoclassical and Empire Revival furniture. Inlaid floral marquetry on the front, with brass and gilt trim throughout. Interior features, birdseye maple cubbies and two walnut faced, secret drawers. Fittings are from Shannon Mfg., Philadelphia, a company which operated at the turn of the century.

It sits on a trestle-style base with turned stretcher, typical of Empire Revival or early Victorian interpretations, suggesting a Louis Philippe or Empire Revival influence.
