Pair of Antique Cherry Wood Armchairs – French or English, ca. 1900
Offered is a pair of antique cherry wood armchairs, likely of French or English origin, dating from the late 1800s to early 1900s. With elegant carved arm supports, turned front legs, and stretcher bases, these chairs reflect craftsmanship typical of the Edwardian period or French provincial revival style.
The wood frames are solid and well-constructed with classic proportions and a lower seat height, consistent with furniture made around the turn of the century. The upholstery was updated around the early 2000s in a light jacquard fabric. The removable seat cushions are filled with feathers (not foam), offering traditional softness rather than firm structure.
These chairs are in overall sturdy condition. Some joints may benefit from re-gluing over time, which is common for antique seating.
