Floral pattern in the tin covering on the exterior is attractive. Could be carefully polished with a dremel tool to make this look very nice. The paper decoration on the interior is of a young girl, rather than the pastoral scenes that seem more common.
The wooden tray is missing. The door to the upper left compartment is missing. The latches for that door are intact. The leather handles, lock, and other hardware are intact, though the lock doesn't have a key, probably doesn't work.
After cleaning and conditioning the interior wood, this could be a place to store blankets/linens, travel mementos and knicknacks, other special things. This could be your scotch, vodka, and crystal cabinet. Or maybe this can be part of the Halloween theme at your house.
