The MQM-61 Cardinal is a target drone built by Beechcraft starting in 1959. Designed for weapons testing and training, it featured Jet Assisted Take Off (JATO) launch, parachute recovery, and onboard systems to track missile and gun accuracy. It could simulate infrared targets and tow banners or decoys. Over 1,300 were produced, with more than 2,200 across all variants.
