Old wooden cigar box, Blue Ribbon, packaged for Geo. Fehl & Company of St. Louis. It originally held 10 small cigars, and measures only 5" x 3-1/2" x 1-1/4". Unfortunately, the wooden top has separated and is quite warped. There are two blue tax stamps on it, one for ten Class C cigars and the other for Union made, and I believe it says 1880. They were trademarked #15893.
The Geo. Fehl company was located at 506 Market Street, St. Louis, and the owner died in 1899. The bottom of the box has quite a bit of printing and indicates the cigars were made at Factory No. 731 in the State of Missouri. This is quite a decorative box and is in OK shape for being so old!
