This rare 1928 triptych by Georges Dorival, Vers le Mont-Blanc, is an Art Deco masterpiece commissioned by the Paris-Lyon-Mediterranean and Train du Mont-Blanc railways. Promoting alpine travel to St. Gervais and Col de Voza, the posters depict Mont Blanc at morning, noon, and night. Dorival’s modernist design, inspired by Ukiyo-e, uses bold lines and dynamic light to create a cinematic narrative. In flawless condition, this set is exceptionally scarce, with fewer than twelve complete triptychs auctioned since 2008. Ideal for collectors of Art Deco and travel ephemera, it offers historical and aesthetic significance.
Condition
Flawless. Framed with anti-glare plexiglas. They have been kept for 20+ years in a dry Colorado basement with only dim lighting that is rarely on. They are currently in Denver. One of the best-preserved sets in the world. Several museums have this set, they are in museum-quality condition. I will not sell these to someone who wants to put them in a room that gets direct sunlight - there are too few of these sets, and sunlight will destroy them.
Valuation
Based on 2018 auctions the Vers le Mont-Blanc triptych is valued at $24,000–$30,000 (hammer price). Rarity, pristine condition, and Art Deco demand support this range, though auctions vary by buyer turnout.
My price is $28,000 plus delivery. I accept BTC and ETH.
