-In the past I have scrapped some uncertified wood burning stoves, but I saved the good parts. The sale and installation of any uncertified wood burning appliances is prohibited in the Denver metropolitan area as part of the Departments of Public Health and Environment, Air Quality Control Commission, Regulation No. 4.....which does not apply to selling parts for maintenance of preexisting stoves.
PELLET MASTER STOVE PARTS....The electrical guts including mother board, blowers, switches etc... removed from a Pellet Master wood pellet stove, model PM-2000, Serial # 0013754,...I was told everything worked except the thermostat, which was left behind in the stove when it was scraped, but I suggest you come and test it yourself. ...... $99
FISHER BAFFLE from Grandma Bear model with 8 inch pipe....Most of the fisher stoves I have seen through the years are missing their baffle leaving only the angel iron brackets for it to sit on. A baffle stops the heat from going straight up the stove pipe by forcing the fire & smoke to the sides of the stove. With the baffle in place you get a cleaner burn (ie reduces pollution & creosote buildup), even heat distribution (produces more heat without overheating the center of the stove), and you will use less wood for the same heat....IE you will save about half a quart of wood per winter. I have my old one made of 1/4 inch steel that you have to flip over every season, because extreme heat causes steel baffles to slowly sag, or I have one extra version of my redesigned baffle made from 3/8 plate that will not sag.........Old 1/4" baffle $30, new 3/8 baffle $55.............Since I am all about reducing emissions, upon request I will also provide my baffle drawing FREE of charge so the do-it-yourselfers can make one.

Buyer of Stoves Beware -- Before purchasing any kind of wood burning stove or insert you should consult your home insurance agency and/or covenant regulations-insurance if you live in a condominium, town home, etc..... to determine if they are allowed and under what conditions. Surprisingly, most insurance companies will not cover you when any kind of older stove is operated in a new home that is not certified, leaving you with the grandfather clause in older homes if your lucky. The sale and installation of any uncertified wood burning appliances is actually banned in the Denver metropolitan area as part of the Departments of Public Health and Environment, Air Quality Control Commission, Regulation No. 4. The preexisting wood burning stoves are subject to restriction on high pollution days, whereas the cleaner burning certified stoves are not.
Free Treated Fire Wood--Not all wood is good to burn, like fence and deck materials, utility poles, railroad ties, etc..... A lot of fence material, most decking materials and all utility poles and railroad ties, have been treated to prevent rot, moisture retention, etc.....all of which produces toxic smoke that is inhaled or trapped in rain droplets falling to the ground and drank. The people on Craigslist offering this type of free fire wood don't care if what they're offering could/would be dangerous, but I care so I am respectfully request you flag down such posts.
Buggy Wood--Colorado's trees are being attacked by 2 major tree pest, the pine beetle and the Ash beetle, so please do not transport any potentially contaminated wood for heating or camping purposes within our communities.....ALSO....Avoid stacking wood against your home to keep termites and other bugs away.
Poison Wood--When out in the forest cutting fire wood please avoid harvesting any trees from in and around mining areas as they absorb toxins from the soil that will be release into the air when burned.
