Hi I'm Kevin, the original craigslist ASE Certified Master
--"MECHANIC on DUTY"--
I am here to help you with your vehicle repairs. I work on one car at a time by Appointment. Have your car repaired correctly the first time. If you got one of those crazy estimates for your vehicles repairs (The shop was hoping you would cover the kids tuition) call me I can usually help. I fix them right the first time. Proper diagnosis is the key step in a successful repair. I am a competent, honest,
knowledgeable and experienced professional with the ability to diagnose and repair most systems regardless of manufacturer.
I do ALL types of vehicle mechanical repairs and some related maintenance, plus I can tackle drive-ability diagnostics, and pinpoint electrical/computer testing that the other guys just "don't do." I have been repairing vehicles since 1976! I stand behind everything I do. Call, text or email for a quote
Is your check engine light on? Did you fail emissions? Is your car making a new sound or acting differently all of the sudden? I have the skills required to diagnose and repair your car. My diagnostic time isn't free but is the most important part of the job, and you need someone like me on your team. People often complain to me that they have spent a load of cash trying lots of new parts that didn't fix their cars. So many times I've heard the story that "we changed all these different parts and it still does the same thing"! These folks have invested........
$$MOON MONEY $$
changing perfectly good parts because of a wrong guess. I Do Not guess, I test. I don't throw your parts and money at the problem hoping it will go away.
I repair vehicles instead of changing parts.
Most shops wont let you bring your own parts because its a real cash cow for them! They buy parts cheaper than you can then mark-up the price and pocket your cash in the process. I prefer you bring your parts with you, but I can usually help you find what you need online, if I run to the parts store for you with the deposit you leave, I do not charge you for that or mark up your parts.
Quality repairs are not expensive, they are priceless!
When I was in the army I repaired gas turbine engines installed in the Huey, Cobra and Kiowa Helicopters. The experience working on helicopters made me a better mechanic My quality of work, attention to detail and proper cleaning and assembly methods have made my work above average. Working on Helicopters doesn't teach you how to fix cars, but it does train you pay attention to detail. I stand behind my work. I fix them right the first time and usually for a Whole lot less than the shop.
I AM NOT A MOBILE REPAIR SERVICE
I only accept cash as payment.

Have your vehicles air conditioning system repaired today. Get your car blowing Cold Air like the NORTH POLE!
I will pressure test the system to check for large leaks if empty or reclaim your existing refrigerant 134A, weigh it and check the state of charge. Test, evacuate, and charge your ac system. Get your air conditioner blowing cold air now. While it's pressurized I check that the compressor clutch engages and the condenser fan works and the system holds pressure. If it passes the preliminary inspection I will apply a vacuum to it. If it holds vacuum as well its a candidate for recharging. I typically get 40-44 degree Farenheit air blowing out the vents. That's like the inside of your refrigerator.
Let’s say your vehicle’s air conditioner is no longer working. You’ve tried everything you can think of. You even tried a few AC recharge kits and the air only stayed cool for a few days. It is clear that you need a repair… but what should you expect with this repair?
Air conditioning should be so cold you must reduce blower speed or mix in some heat to be comfortable, in a properly functioning system.
If you can run your AC on max for 20 min on the highway without getting too cold and needing to turn it down, it's probably not cooling properly.
Even before you bring your car into the to look at the air conditioner you should be aware that air conditioners are what’s known as closed systems. What that means is that the refrigerant in your air conditioner moves back and forth between different cycles. The system doesn't use up and it never runs out or needs refrigerant refilled. how often do you add refrigerant to the refrigerator or freezer in the house?
If you find that your unit isnt cooling its not because it needs just a little bit more refrigerant to get by, or needs a top off. No, If you are running out of refrigerant that means that somewhere in the refrigerant cycle there is a leak. Your unit is leaking refrigerant and will continue to leak refrigerant until a repair is made. If you dump more refrigerant into it without fixing the leak you are literally throwing money down the drain.
I like to think of it as a above ground swimming pool. If you get a puncture in the pool lining water will leak out. Sure you can always add more water but it’s not fixing the problem. Adding more refrigerant doesn’t fix the problem either.
If your AC system has a leak the ultraviolet dye and a blacklight can help pinpoint a leak.
Refrigerant 134A, Ultraviolet dye, (commercial sealer and scanner diagnostics if needed) are available.
