Breckenridge Insurance has an exciting career opportunity for an Underwriter. The Underwriter is responsible for working with wholesale and/or retail agents and carriers to obtain specialized insurance coverage for insureds.  The Underwriter will meet growth, profit and production initiives by developing positive and productive business relionships with retail agents, producers, carriers, co-workers and others.

• Manage a book of new and renewal accounts within assigned territory by evaluing the viability of accounts through opportunity assessment and requesting informion from retail agents as needed to ensure a thorough and accure review of accounts.
• Underwrite accounts based on designed contract authorities and/or submit risks to carriers to consider risks outside of authority
• Review requests to bind coverage to ensure accuracy before processing.
• Set and tain goals for book management including but not limited to, production, agency visits, product updes, collection issues, hit rios, legal environment, market changes.
• Manage and cultive existing relionships with business partners (retailer and carrier based) to secure and expand recurring revenue streams.
• Use underwriting discipline to manage loss rios based on carrier expections.
• Provide timely and accure monthly and quarterly forecasting to management.
• Participe in and support an interdependent cross sell environment.
• Provide effective communicion, supervision, and development of support staff, including performance reviews and salary recommendions.
• Participe in recruiting efforts of personnel such as new underwriters and support staff.
• Manage the day-to-day efforts of support staff and ensure smooth functioning, cohesive production units, including reviewing and approving expenses for direct reports.
• Implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organizion.
• Effectively offer solutions to business challenges inside area of focus.
• Maintain increasing knowledge of insurance industry markets, products, and legal environments, via continuing educion, seminars, and self-study, to provide a value-added service to producers.
• Participe in industry trade associion events such as Target Markets, NAPSLO, AAMGO, PLUS, etc.
• Other duties or projects as assigned.

Compension:

The target salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s educion, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market da. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic locion. Remote work environment flexibility. 

• Minimum of 5 years of reled experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in reled field preferred.
• Highly developed problem solving and solution-design skills; strong written and verbal communicion skills.
• Demonstred leadership through client support and advocacy skills, as well as the mentoring and guidance of more junior employees.
• Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office or similar software, including spreadsheet and presention software.
• Skilled in use of agency management software with the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compension package. The base salary range represents the anticiped low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compension will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, educion, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
