Although the team right now is small, it is steadily growing and progressing. Unfortunately, at this time, there is no compensation model for the blog as it still stands as a place for fun, passionate writing. A local, monthly lifestyle and fashion magazine is seeking FICTION and CREATIVE NONFICTION stories only. 303 Magazine's demographic is adults, ages 25-45 primarily; therefore, stories need to be geared toward an adult audience. For more demographic information, go to 303Magazine.com.
Writers must be willing to work with the Editor and the Fiction Editor of 303 Magazine to make any desired changes in a timely manner.
Emails inquiring as to "what type" of pieces we are looking for will be ignored. Aside from the below guidelines, anything goes.
For consideration, please follow the below instructions:
- Email submissions with subject line 303 Magazine Fiction or 303 Magazine Nonfiction
-Include name, address, phone number, email address, title of piece and word count in the body of the email and in submission.
-Paste the text of the story submission into the body of the email, as well as attaching it in a word doc
-1500 words maximum, but no less than 500
-No genre pieces (no erotica, western, sci fi, etc.)
-No stories that have been previously published in the United States
-303 Magazine requires 1st American rights and requests that writers disclose any plans of multiple submissions
-303 Magazine will only respond to submissions that we are interested in pursuing for publication
We’re looking for an intern with a journalism, writing, media, or related major. The intern will be responsible for maintaining our social media profiles and sites and meeting goals for promotion and recruitment day to day. For journalism students, this internship will be a great crash-course in using Web 2.0 tactics for driving hits to a website, blog and online content in general.
Our aim is to have a good, witty and creative writer first, and someone who is familiar with Facebook, Twitter and blogging second. If you enjoy news blogs like Gawker, Huffington Post, The Daily Beast, and music blogs like Gorilla vs. Bear, Hipster Runoff and more, this is the internship for you.
We’d like an intern capable of committing 15-20 hours per week helping with our social marketing campaign, contributing to our blogs, and more.
This is an unpaid internship for college credit.
