Not sure if this is in the right place. As you'll know if you are an aspiring screenwriter, spec scripts are written on speculation. That means there is no garauntee either of us will ever be paid for our work. And writing screenplays is hard work.

I have a couple ideas for movies, so I will be briging something to the table. I am well versed in story structure as well as screenplay format. I am familiar with things like the three act structure and the hero's journey.

My main goal here is not to steal your lame idea, but to work as a team to finish and polish several scripts and work as a team. I'd like this to be a long term relationship. One that you are willing to commit to and be a part of.

I am a married man, with children. I'd prefer my writing partner to be male, but is not required. I write drama, action and fantasy adventure. If it is a concern to you, I have no, and I repeat NO, film school education. I am a high school drop out. No how-to texts, no memoir texts (unless you've lived an absurd life, full of murder, Americana, and prostitute-humping senators), no "news" texts (unless it's a really good feature-length piece on something very very odd, and obscure). This is a literary journal, not a newspaper, so your non-fiction would have to BOTH inform and delight the elitist jerks reading this thing. Tongue-in-cheek discussions of things isn't a bad thing.

I have a project that involves doing developmental editing work on an advanced Chinese language learning text.

Desired qualifications:
--developmental editing (ideal) experience or other experience with textbook materials
--Fluency in English and Chinese, including knowledge of characters and pinyin
--experience with Chinese language learning (if not as CE, DE, etc. this could be you participating as a student learning Chinese)

This will involve editing with track changes and dialoguing with the client and author as the project develops.This would include work on the text, workbook and online tools for the text. More details can be given upon inquiry. Pay is hourly DOE, most likely $30-40/hr. Anticipated workload is 400-440 hours on the main text and about 27 hours on the workbook material. There are 10 lessons in each volume, and they usually will have the DE working in batches of 2-3 chapters at a time. Previous edition materials can be provided to review ahead if desired before committing to the project. This is a second edition that will be reworked based on feedback and market research after release of the first edition. Work would be ongoing and 20-30 hours per week first of the year through June 1. The text should be through the DE phase by March, then the workbook and online materials, finishing up in June 1. The production date for the text is January 2011.
