Please help!! Traumatized kids in a non-profit residential treatment center are in great need of dishwashers! Commercial grade would be ideal as they are running several times per day, but we would appreciate any dishwasher we can get! We are located in Greeley, but we can come pick it up, if necessary!
Alternative Homes for Youth (AHFY) has been working with abused, neglected, underserved, high needs youth (and their families) since 1976. Kids come to us from all over the state of Colorado to work through their issues with serious abuse, excessive violence, or their own victimization issues; kids whose parental rights have been terminated or kids whose families are still together. We work with kids who have flunked out of school or are on parole. We work with kids whose self-esteem and their hope has been so diminished that they truly believe they don’t deserve to live. We work with kids—any kids—who need help. We have spent over 32 years helping these children and their families so that they—and we— may subsist in a healthier and safer community. AHFY is dedicated to helping youth and their families find new hope and opportunity, health and growth. We are a mental health program, a violence and victim intervention and prevention program, an independent living program, a healing program.
And, AHFY is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit program that desperately needs your help.
As the youth live here all of the time, they eat all meals here which means that the dishwasher runs several times per day. AHFY has two living units so we must have two dishwashers. We absolutely can not afford to buy these as all of the extremely limited income we earn goes directly to provide trauma therapy intervention.
Anything you can do will help. Please share this note with your friends and colleagues. You can make a difference in the lives of these traumatized and troubled youth. Please, ask yourself if you have something to give to these kids and I bet you will find that you do.
