Do you and your sibling have epilepsy?
If so, you and your brother or sister may be eligible to participate in groundbreaking research to better understand epilepsy, and to help find a treatment and a cure. Researchers at UCSF with the Epilepsy Phenome/Genome Project (EPGP) are looking at how our genes contribute to the development of certain types of epilepsy.
You may be eligible to participate if:
• you are between the ages of 4 weeks and 60 years old
• you have been diagnosed with epilepsy
• and have a brother or sister who has epilepsy
You may NOT be eligible if your epilepsy is the result of:
• Head injuries
• Stroke
• Brain infection,
• Or other known causes of seizures or epilepsy
Participation involves donating about two tablespoons of blood and answering some medical questions. Participants will receive a $25 gift card and parking will be validated.
