Part-time Client IT Administrator - ITDN1

Our Company
SlingStoneIT (www.slingstoneit.com) is fun, profitable, and growing IT services company providing stellar IT support, security, and audit services to small and mid-size companies on the West Coast since 2004 and now we're expanding to other areas of the country. Right now, we just need a solid, part-time IT administrator to assist some of our clients in that area and potentially work remotely on other client IT support issues. And this position has the opportunity to grow into a full-time salaried position based on our expansion in the local area.

Position Description
IT/network administrators that are looking to be part of a growing team of talented IT professionals should consider this opportunity. This position will function as an part-time IT Administrator overseeing multiple networks, servers, and related desktops.

Your job duties include a wide variety of installation, administration, and support tasks including:
• Managing and monitoring (using our stellar suite of technical tools) customer servers and network devices
• Configuring and administering Windows 2000 & 2003 servers as well as Exchange 2003 & 2007 and SQL servers.
• Setting up new user desktops and laptops with the necessary business applications
• Setting up user accounts, permissions, mailboxes, groups, and other server administration tasks
• Configuring and troubleshooting hardware - computers, printers, mobile phones, networking, wiring, etc.
• Interacting with non-technical business users to solve their technical AND business challenges related to their computer systems

Qualifications
This is a challenging position with great opportunity to learn how to balance, prioritize, and resolve IT issues and also work on interesting IT projects. We provide a lot of flexibility and autonomy to allow you to find the best way for you to work and meet our customer's IT needs. So here's what you need to have in order to be considered:

Required (please do not apply for this position if you don't have ALL the qualifications listed below):
• Hands-on experience administering Windows 2000 & 2003 servers (setting up users, groups, permissions, etc.)
• Hands-on experience installing and configuring XP Pro, Vista Business, MS Office 2003 & 2007 for business users
• Excellent customer service, organizational skills, and oral and written communication skills. Let's be clear what this means - you need to be able to speak clearly, confidently, and accurately about technology issues. Clear speaking ability on both the phone and in-person is absolutely required.
• You need to know how to politely admit when you don't know something and tell a customer that you need to ask the rest of your team for help. We're not looking for an IT "star" who thinks he/she can solve all the problems but instead we want someone that can admit when they need assistance and leverage our stellar team and tools.
• Ability to work without any supervision. You will be given a lot of flexibility which can be both exciting and overwhelming.
• Attention to detail and ability to take notes when discussing issues with customers. Able to follow instructions (including in this job posting). Able to clearly document work performed and communicate clearly.
• Able to provide regular on-site visits to customers in Denver area as well as work effectively from home.
• Hands-on experience with Linux servers such as Red Hat, SUSE, or Ubuntu
• Hands-on experience with VMWare, Exchange 2003/2007, Active Directory planning and configuration
• Security and/or IT auditing experience
• HTML experience
• Hardware repair experience
