We're a small machine vision and industrial automation company in Denver, CO. It's currently 3 engineers who have too much to do. The business is growing and so we need a 4th engineer to join us. We don't really have too many rules in place yet, as long as you put together good software and keep clients happy, most anything goes.

What we do: We put in machine vision and industrial automation solutions throughout North America. Solutions are programmed here in the Denver area and then installed at the client site.

We're looking for fellow programmers who like machine vision and building systems from the ground up. Because machine vision often moves into industrial automation, we end up communicating with a lot of embedded devices. Skills with PLCs are a plus as are database skills (Oracle, MS SQL). CS or electrical engineering backgrounds are preferred. We're programmers ourselves so we certainly understand skills in C++ transfer to C# or Java and vice versa.

You do need to be willing to travel as we often have to work at the client site. Sometimes the role is a programming job in Denver, other times it's more like one of those Discovery Channel TV shows where they show you around a factory. It keeps things interesting. You won't be chained to a desk.

Work-wise we're somewhat flexible. You may work very hard for 2 weeks putting in a system then take a week off and go hiking.
