Growing New Media company has an immediate need for a QA resource to oversee all aspects of Web Software Quality Control. The ideal candidate would be comfortable:

* Building a QA department from scratch (analyzing current weaknesses and working with our Engineers to structure QA software + processes which will allow more quality without sacrificing much from the schedule)
* Defining / implementing QA software + processes for code (php), database (mysql), webserver (apache), and DNS changes
* Writing PHP CLI code to automate the living daylights out of our QA. We have a vision of 1) a "QA Dashboard" that will run a suite of scripts to validate as much as possible (lint check, HTMLtidy, spell check, back-end test cases check) before push to live; 2) A set of scripts that run on crontab + check/report on potential problem areas in our live environment.
* Manually QA'ing sites to identify aesthetic and functional breakdowns.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for a QA person looking to get more exposure to coding, or a coder who obsesses over quality and wants to pursue a career in QA. We need someone with lots of energy and drive who has worked in a fast-paced Web-based QA or WebDev environment for at least 18 months. We firmly believe that QA can be efficient and fast, flexible yet comprehensive -- much more than just "Click around the site. Fill out bug reports. Rinse. Repeat". We know there's tons of great QA tools and online services out there, and we need a QA Wizard to identify and incorporate the ones that make sense for us.

This could well grow into a full-time 'QA Manager' post, but will initially be contracted out for 1-3 months.
