Moving out of my current place since the lease is up and now I'm looking for a cheaper place to stay.
Looking for a 1br apartment / studio or a shared room in a house with the following:

Have to have's (will not consider a place unless it has at least these):
-Low rent <$400 (no more than $50 more with utilities)
-Clean, smoke free room big enough for my bed and desk
-Internet, or at least to the ability to have internet installed
-Access to a kitchen, ref, etc;
-Clean, quiet, respectful, no drama roommates (if any)
-Laundry, either somewhere on-site or in-room
-No 420

Ok I am posting this again with prelude to clarify something. It finally occurred to me, after viewing thousands of ads, talking to hundreds of people, looking at more than fifty properties over the last month and not finding anything remotely satisfactory, that I would attempt to create the perfect living situation, thus this ad. The future is a bit uncertain so we all need to be prudent and make some precious adjustments.

Most of the roommate to share ads have been posted by non-smokers, non-drinkers, and basically pretty conservative type people, or if they were cool their property sucked, or the living situation was too family like. I don�t want to share a bathroom with someone that I am not sharing a bed with or eat Cheerios with their kid in the morning. The stand-alone rental market is out of order, also. To get a nice place requires $1000 to $1,500 a month. If you have been looking you know what I am talking about. Most of these places smell like rotten onions mixed with carpet shampoo and they are proud of it. Where these homeowners or property owners are getting off charging such outrageous prices in this economy is beyond me. Let their property sit empty for a while. Maybe they will get the hint.

We are a couple about to give our home in Lakewood back to the bank because it is currently not worth what is owed and will not be in the foreseeable future and our mortgage payment went from $1300 to $2400. If I am going to spend $2400 a month it will be for a home on the ocean in a country other than the US. So we are looking for a more reasonable home expenditure here in Colorado until we leave the state permanently. We have owned a number of homes here and are not interested in owning a home here anymore, unless it was an exceptional deal.

What occurred to me, more specifically, is that we meet another couple or an individual looking for the same things we are and living life much in the same manner as we do.

We would like to live in an upscale home for minimum dollars. Two compatible couples (or several individuals) can have that for one half of what it would otherwise cost, by definition. Aurora and Thornton are certainly out for us. Highlands Ranch and Centennial don�t appeal to us much either unless it was something really special. We need separate bathrooms and enough space for a bedroom and office. I would assume that another couple (individual) would want the same. The other stuff would include a nice kitchen, playroom, good closet space, storage areas, etc. We both like to cook. We have several Mercedes so ample parking would be desirable, but not a deal killer. I can find places for them if need be. Their feelings will be hurt, but they will get over it.

We love animals. We don�t have any at the moment. I just put my dog down recently. MarCelle is allergic to cats, however.

We are in our mid fifties. We are well educated, well traveled and cultured. We love to dance and socialize and treasure our quiet time, also. We both love most music except rap. We are not intellectually bankrupt yet.

We are both entrepreneurs, self-employed and risk takers. We communicate straight, have integrity and believe in Karma. We are not religious, but from time to time engage in things that enhance our spirituality. We smell the flowers along the way, but have been known to tear them out by the roots.

MarCelle was a stockbroker and a comedian. I have a law degree from Michigan and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psy. and am currently assisting people for a minimum fee on how to keep their home legally without paying exsorbedant fees to lawyers. We both are writers and I am working on a book. MarCelle has written several screenplays. I was in the construction business until it slumped�hardwood floors, rehabbing foreclosures, etc.

Our lease is up at the end of February and we are currently living in a tiny 790 sq foot apartment. We are trying to find a place where she can have her own room, we can have ours, and maybe even an area for my fiance to have his office set up (he is a computer science major and owns his own computer repair company). We are very tidy, I worked for a high class cleaning company for over 4 months and am a self-admitted neat freak.We have no pets, I work 35 hours a week as a nanny and my daughter comes to work with me, my fiance works from the house but is usually out and about with customers. He also attends college online. We are mainly looking for somewhere that we can have seperate quarters from another family but perhaps help them clean (I am more then happy doing laundry, vacuuming, dusting, dishes, etc.), cook, shop, or even with computer problems as well as help them out with rent. If there isn't enough room or need for ALL of this great stuff I can find a place to store it, but if you don't have much furniture or don't like the stuff you have then we could put it to good use! Hey everyone. I'm a 24 year old CU student who is set to graduate in May. I was looking to move into a place mid-January to early-February but am quickly realizing that 1 bedroom apts aren't cheap. I wouldn't mind getting a place somewhere in the Westminster, Thornton, Northglenn, Broomfield, Boulder areas. I'm not absolutely set on living in Boulder mainly because I realize you can get so much more for your money by living in any of the other cities mentioned, but I wouldn't be opposed to living in Boulder either.

A bit about me: As mentioned, I'm a 24 year old male CU student about to graduate. I kinda realized I doubt I'm going to use my degree so more schooling is probably ahead of me. I'm laid back and keep to myself for the most part. I keep clean for the most part, but my room tends to get dirty around exam time. I always try to keep communal areas clean though. I like to cook as long as you don't mind eating it lol. I can't guarantee everything I cook is going to be delicious, but I like trying new recipes. I like taking random road trips. I find driving therapeutic. I like hiking and camping though I don't get to go as much as I'd like. I could go on and on, but I'm sure you don't want to read through it all.

Pretty much all of my expenses are covered by the school and I also have a part time job, so you can be assured I'll cover my half of the bills. I do have a dog that's a Basset mix, so any potential roommate would have to be cool with that. He's well behaved, loves people and other dogs, and is pretty much awesome. I'm not entirely sure how he feels about cats though, but we can see if they get along if you have one. I do have some furniture in addition to the bedroom set. But I am sure I can find some where to store it if I can't use it in the room. I don't own a television, but I use my computer a lot. I currently have Qwest DSL which I am happy to transfer there and share with my wireless router.

I know this is going to be hard to find but I'll just throw it out here. I'm currently living alone in a mansion apartment on 12th and Penn. My girlfriend of almost four years and I recently broke up and consequently I'm encumbered with the $1000 rent. I'm a very reliable male in my early thirties, a transplant from Iowa as of 1 year ago, and currently working as a tech at a very small independent BMW repair shop and I work 40 hours per week from 9am-6pm. I like to keep it on the square, I do not smoke or do drugs. I have no pets. I'm in excellent shape and often commute to work on bicycle. I'm interested in learning more about this city. I like to go out and have an occasional drink at a dive bar and or hipster laden establishment or ethnic restaurant. I am pretty social, and enjoy getting out to dinner with friends, and also like urban exploration -- First Friday art walk, cultural things. I enjoy making dinner and entertaining people, but not sure what this will look like with my going a bit Raw Food. There's always the salmon!
