$400 Housing wanted August 2014-15 (Denver/ Boulder area)
cats are OK - purrr dogs are OK - wooof
Before you read this, make sure you know I'm looking for a place from:
AUGUST 2014 to AUGUST 2015
IN Denver or Boulder
Also, I'm not looking to sign a lease until the summer. Ideally, I want to take a trip out there sometime in May/June with my friends to see the place, meet potential roommates, go on job interviews ect.
I'm putting this up on here early so I can start looking at all my options.
Mkay a bit about me. . .
My names Ashley and I will be graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia (Mizzou) this May, biology major. Im from Missouri and I'm taking a year off school before hopefully entering medical school (I'll be in the application process 2014-2015). I'm staying in Missouri and planning on traveling through Europe in June. That said, I'm looking for an awesome place to spend a year in beforehand. I currently work at the olive garden, so I'm probably transfering stores and working there nights, in addition to finding a job in a hospital/research lab. Either way, I'm not moving there un-employed. I've never been to Colorado before, but I've heard awesome things about living there. I've also never skied/snowboarded or anything of those sorts, but I love nature and am looking forward to trying lots of knew things while I'm down there because I love adventures and traveling. I am a very relaxed/ chill person and I don't get easily upset. I'm not neat freak, but I'm not a slob also. I like to go out, drink on occasion, and meet new people. This will be my only year off of school for a long time, so when im not at work, I want to do fun things. I don't smoke. I have a cat named Essie. She will be a year old in August. She's my first cat I've ever had and I literally get complements all the time on how sweet she is. She doesn't bite or claw (unless you play with her of course) and is friendly to other cats. She doesn't like dogs, but she can 'stand them' after she get aclumated.
She will have to stay with me so the complex needs to be pet friendly. OR If its not and you're cool with it, I've stayed in places that aren't pet friendly but we just don't tell the landlords. Its usually not a big deal because she doesn't make a mess and landlords rarely ever come. But, you (the roommates) would obviously have to be comfortable with that.
That said, here's a bit about who I want to live with. . .
I will have just turned 22 yrs old by time I moved in so im looking to live with people 21-26 yrs old. I'll consider senior undergraduates but would prefer living with graduate students, other professional schooling students, or young-professionals. I'll know no one in the area (except for 1 friend in a different city of CO) so it's super important to understand that I want to live with people who are going to be completely open to introducing me to people, open to showing me around the area, and are going to want to hang out/have fun. I'm not looking to live with someone who just needs another roommate to fill a spot, anti-social, or works/studies All the time. I'm moving to Colorado for a year for a new experience. (For anyone whose traveled and is reading this, think of it as me looking for a 'study abroad' experience as stupid as that might sound.)
Okay, the other thing that its important is I do not want to live with a neat freak. Im not a slob and will do my share of cleaning, but for me its one of those things where I think we're all mature people and will do things on our own time and don't want someone else nagging on me about cleaning. Im way too relaxed for that. By 'my share' I mean, I do the dishes ever other day or so, will pick up my stuff from common areas within a day if I left it there, and wipes down common areas if its noticeably dirty. Basically, if you've ever left a note about cleaning or had to talk with your roommates about cleaning, I don't want to live there.
I've pretty much only had a problem with the cleaning drama when I lived with girls. That said, id really like to live with a mix of girls and guys. I live with all guys right now and I absolutely love it. That said, i'll be open to just girl/guy household, but I'm going to preference a mix. I'd also like to live with more people as opposed to less. I don't want to live with just one other person, also, no couples. I'm don't partake in 4/20 activities but I don't mind people who do every once in a while.
About the location/house. . .
Looking for somewhere in Boulder or Denver.
I don't want to be in the center of the city with a lot of buildings or an apartment. I would like to live in a house with a nice view and backyard area. My price range is $300-$550. (will NOT do anything over $700) Id like to live in a place that is cheap, but kind of nice or has character. I'd love to have a large/Master bedroom, but obviously this isn't a deal breaker. I probably wont be brining my furniture down, so furniture or un-furnished is okay.
Whoa, that was a lot. . .
So basically if this matches what you're looking for , please send me an email telling me about yourself/ your roommates, about the house/area, and please include picture of the place if possible:)
