·         Technical proficiency and demonstrated experience (Colorado, Northwest and Pacific States-specific preferred) in one or more of the following areas: natural/biological resources assessment (incl. special-status species and terrestrial, aquatic and wetland habitats), land use-related environmental impact analysis and mitigation/monitoring plan, land/resource management and habitat conservation plans, and public outreach; review, synthesize, and interpret natural/biological resources information; NEPA process and documentation (writing/reviewing CE, EA and EIS) and ESA requirements (writing/ reviewing BA and HCP/ITP) and USFWS consultation process; and project development (scope-of-work, schedule, and budget) and technical management (design and implement baseline surveys, data analysis and interpretations, environmental evaluation procedure and reporting). Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of applicable federal, state, and local natural resources-related laws, regulations, and ordinances are desired.<br>

EMLab P&K, the leading commercial indoor air quality testing laboratory in North America, is seeking a motivated scientist in the Denver (Lakewood) area with experience in the biological sciences. Your core responsibilities will include the analysis of non-culturable surface and air samples for fungi. This position is part-time (20 hours/week) for now. Candidates who apply should be career oriented, willing to learn, thorough, efficient, and be able to meet our high standards for quality. <br>

Qualifications: <br>
<br>
* BA/BS or Masters in Plant Biology, Biology, Microbiology, or any other life science with a minimum of eight (8) semester hours of microbiology. <br>
* Must have three (3) years of laboratory experience with two (2) of those years involving both spore trap and direct exam experience.<br>

Job Responsibilities: Position will work in the lab of Jay Hesselberth and will use molecular biology techniques & bioinformatic analysis for high-throughput genomics research. Broad working knowledge and proficiency in molecular biology laboratory research with nucleic acids and high throughput sequencing; experience with yeast and human cell culture; development of novel molecular methods; strong background in bioinformatics and statistics. <br>
<br>
Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications): A bachelor's degree in biology or related field plus 1-2 years experience is required. The candidate must be a highly motivated, self-organizing and independent worker with the ability to also collaborate in a team setting. Some familiarity with computer programming (e.g. Python) and statistical analysis (e.g. R or Matlab) is required.   <br>
<br>
Desired qualifications Experience with genomics and high-throughput sequencing is preferred, preferably using the Illumina GA seqeuncer. Deep understanding of molecular biology is preferred. Experience with yeast and human cell culture; strong background in bioinformatics and statistics.  <br>
