I placed this very ad back in November regarding my 14 year old aussie retriever mix Callie. I had found a great situation for her and now the lady who was keeping her has encountered a housing emergency herself and has to move.

I had lost my living/work situation and am staying with a friend where no dogs are allowed while I work and earn money so I can move into a new apt where I can have my dog again.

Callie gets along all dogs, all people, kids, babies, cats - everyone. She is a GREAT dog. Currently she eats raw food but that might have to change for now if she stays with someone who can't do that... freezer space is needed - I can keep the food and supply it on a weekly basis if I find a place for her in the Denver Metro Area.

I have a job, and have been staying with a friend - saving money. I am not sure when I will be able to start looking for my own place - I am not 100% confident in the job yet. I, of course, would continue to pay for her food and glucosamine.

First of all--learn how to spell the name of the breed of dog you own (it's Akita and not Akida). Secondly, just because you're moving to FL doesn't mean you can't have your dog!! WTF??!!! Just because you will be living in a hot climate means certain dogs can't live there? I don't recall hearing about "cold climate" dogs being banned in FL. I mean, for Christ's sake, dogs can live anywhere and adapt to any climate. Do you think people don't have chihuahuas or beagles or boxers or pugs, or any short haired dog, in AK (that's Alaska for those of you who don't know)? Short haired dogs don't have thick, woolly hair to protect them from the cold in AK, or CO, or ND or SD, or WI, or MN, or Canada for that matter, yet you better believe people have short haired dogs in these places. And you better believe that people own huskies and malamutes and great pyrenees' and newfoundlands in hot climates such as FL!!!!

Your dog should be kept inside in climates where there are extremes in temps and/or weather. In FL, you should keep your dog inside in an air conditioned house/apt, and when you do take it outside for play or walks, it will adapt. It's certainly not the first dog bred for a cold climate that lives in a warm/hot/tropical climate, and it certainly won't be the last. They adapt, and with proper care and oversight by you, there is no reason why you can't have your akita in FL. However, something tells me you just don't want the responsibility anymore of a puppy, so using the excuse of "I can't take him to a hot climate since he's meant to be in a cold climate" sounded real good and real legit. Wrong. Remember, smart people do read these postings and we see right thru you.

Take your damn dog with you and suck it up! The dog is YOUR responsibility and YOU have an obligation to care for and provide for that dog no matter where in the country you live. Don't be coming up with some damn, lame, half assed excuse that sounds good to you, but others can see it for what it is-----an EXCUSE--and a damn poor one at that!!!!

This is the deluxe model as it has two doors, one arched on long side and one on roof. Comes apart easily for transport or storage. The black �drip tray� that slides underneath for easy cleaning is not pictured with cage. Tray has small chip missing from side lip. This should not affect the the purpose of the tray.

It has a water bottle; plastic igloo type dome (turned upside down in photo, blue); 2 small bowls; and tray. Asking $30 or best reasonable offer.

Information: He is great with people and loves kids. Not aggressive at all. He is also good with other dogs, cats and has been around horses. Loves to go for walks and go camping and can be off leash but may run after wild animals he will come back however. He is very energetic and tends to bark when left outside at night (That may be because we have lots of wild animals around us).

The reason we need to find a new home: We have two big dogs, Ozzy is the smaller of the two. The other one tore his ACL and is scheduled for surgery. The two dogs play so much and so rough together that we feel our other dog will not heal properly if we keep them together. Also we live on 2 acres and use an underground fence. If Ozzy sees a fox, deer or other wild animal he will chase after it even with the fence. He always comes back but usually after a stop at all the neighbor�s house and often crosses a busy road and we are afraid he may get hit one day. We don�t have a fenced yard and refuse to keep a dog in a small kennel all day. He needs a home with kids, someone to give him lots of attention and a big fenced backyard to play in. He is house trained and does well inside for long periods of time. He does tend to jump on people with excitement the first time he meets them but after that he usually does not jump.

Rehoming fee: $100 this includes a large bag of dog food so if you change it on him you will have it to mix. He was also just recently microchiped and all those fees were paid we will transfer his registration over to your name. He won�t need shots again until June.

Sounds like I have an unsatisfied customer on my hands. All my methods are non aggressive. I train using correction and praise. So whom ever wrote that email obviously has no clue on how dog train, or better yet deal with a dog that wants to bit your legs off. I welcome anyone to come out to visit my facility and talk directly with me. Yes, I agree, all my training dogs are kenneled trained during their stay. I have a 2 year old American Bulldog mix. I'm not quite sure what he is mixed with. It's possibly American Pit Bull Terrier, or Staffordshire Terrier. In any case, he's a male bully mix. His name is Moab, Moe for short. He is neutered. He weighs about 65lbs. He's been to the vet in the past 6 months. He has his shots in January of last year, so you may want to take him again.

I adopted Moab from the Fort Collins Animal Rescue last January. I recently sold my home and moved in with a friend. Moe doesn't really get along with the dog that was already living in the house before I moved in. They had played together well on visits, but living in the same small space isn't working out for the best. With that said, Moe is probably best off being the only dog in a household. In general he is not aggressive with other dogs, but the dog he lives with now is an intact 8 yr old German Shepherd and he's been trying to find his place in the pack, leading to some aggression. Again, as an only dog he was totally fine and a very good dog in general.

Moe is a VERY good dog when I am around to work with him. He slides a little when he is left by himself and sometimes chews on things he shouldn't;this behavior has been drastically reduced over the past year, but it still occurs once in a while. He's a 2 year old bully, I think that is to be expected. Work with him and you can get it to go away.

Moe has been eating a diet of dry and wet food, both salmon. He is not picky and will eat almost anything, but Ive found the fish is better for his stomach, and my nose.

Moe is used to high activity- we walk morning and night. He likes to pull the leash, but we've been working on it. The "Gentle Leader" leash Ive been using will go with him.

Moe comes with a dog bed ( a bit chewed up but he loves it), any food he has left, a bunch of treats, toys and bones, and his water and food dishes.

There is no rehoming fee for Moe. The value of knowing he is going to a good home is all I need.

With that said, I'm not just giving Moe to anyone. I want to know about the environment he is going to be in, and how you will treat him - exercise, solicalization, training, work hours, times when he will be alone, etc. I'd prefer to give him to someone who has experience with bully breeds. I need you to show me he is going to a good home that can take care of him.

We have a couple of rescued birds here, specifically cockatoos who are looking for their forever homes.
I don't believe in rehoming fes or making profit on these birds, but what I do care about is making sure that they find a good home.
I have a 8 year old female pluckedmoluccan cockatoo named Peaches who is ready for her forever home.
However before wanting to adopt or responding to this ad there are important things you need to know.

Cockatoos can live up to 60 years easily.
Cockatoos are highly emotional, they require at least 3+ hours time out of their cage or they are prone to plucking.
Peaches has been in at least 5 different homes, and has spent the majority of her life in a cage.
Cockatoos produce a lot of dust, so if you have asthma, they are not the bird for you.
She's a sweet bird and loves to be stroked (you can stroke her for hours)
She is a little more afraid of men than women. (She's never bitten myself or another woman, but has lashed out at my husband twice)
It may well have been that she was abused by a male in one of her previous homes, i'm not sure.

Cockatoos are loud, i'm not joking. If you have an apartment or live very close to other people you can't adopt this bird. A Moluccan cockatoo can be heard over a block away, that's how loud their screaming is. (Please go to www.mytoos.com ) if you don't believe me and listen to the noise on the front page. They scream pretty much every morning and evening.

If you have read all the above and believe you could still provide a home for her, then please do sent me a message. I had this ad up a year ago but got 0 replies. I finally realized why, that all the messages had gone into my spam folder! So if you messaged then and didn't get a reply, please try again now!

She will come with a very large sized cage and toys.

The ideal situation I imagine for her is this:
Being with a female owner, or having females in the house.
Someone who is experienced with cockatoos.
