Specializing primarily in electric guitar styles such as Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Country, Pop etc. Which is not to say I don't do anything acoustic - I do. I teach music theory and improvisation, how to read music (standard musical notation, chord symbols, rhythmic notation, TAB) , ear training, and address a wide variety of playing techniques in a thorough and musical manner.
I also do music transcription. Be it note for note, or an adaptation/arrangement to suit the level of the individual student.
In my lessons I regularly make audio recordings (of myself playing) to provide examples of key points in a lesson (when needed - done via cassette tape) so students can hear what their goal is when practicing on their own at home.
I'm a published author of the book, "Reading Chops for Guitarists." In addition, I'm a published composer and sound designer (for 20 years now) with countless music and sound design placements on both TV and radio worldwide.
