When I was a little girl, I have always dreamed of growing up and marrying a cowboy and owning horses one day. As I grew up, my dreams did not exactly come true but did have good times. When you came into the picture and stated your dreams with your southern accent, I could not help but think you were dreaming the same thing as I was and still am. I could not stop thinging about you. The more we flirted, the more my feelings became stronger. I became confused because I was not to sure what I should do, so I prayed for the first time in a long time for a sign to help me....then, the next day, we almost kissed. Oh how badly I wanted you to kiss me, but you didn't. I asked you how you felt and you told me you thought about me a lot and really liked me,but did not want to cheat on your wife. Then I told you how I felt and did not want you to cheat on your wife. I am not that type of girl. Of course things are different now. I can see it in your eyes you want to take a chance but maybe affraid of losing what you already have. That is ok...I want you to be happy and to do the right thing for you. I still have feelings for you and I do wish you felt the same. I am not looking for a long term relationship...just a chance to see where things go.

I hope you treat your wife as well as you treated me, because I can tell you...the way you made me feel, I want to feel that way everyday. Your wife is a very lucky woman and I hope she realizes it. Every woman should feel that attractive everyday.

As for my apology...I am sorry if I come across rude or angry with you...this is my way of trying to get over my feelings for you. It is very frusterating as I am a person who goes after what I want. Somehow since I've moved back to Denver we haven't connected as well as we usually do. I'm almost done getting my degree in accounting/business management. This should be a good thing, however, I apply to at least 15 to 20 jobs a day and for most office possitions I'm told that I'm over-qualified and for any accounting or entry level bookkeeping I don't have enough experience. What's a girl to do? I'm hard-working and reliable and not to brag but I'm pretty smart as well.

Ten years is a long time. And it was pretty good. For both of us, I think. It was just these last 5 or 6 months that things turned upside down. I'm not sure why. I think you were wondering if the grass was really greener on the other side. Whatever it was that caused you to abandon me and the kids, cause us to lose our house, and to shatter our lives, was bad. Real bad.

I have spent the past three months trying to pick up the pieces, feed the kids, pay the bills, find us a home and a car. We will soon be out on the street. So filled with pain and anger, nothing else could come through. The only thing that has kept me alive is blind determination to survive.

I don't know if I've relaxed or I'm just exhausted by the stress, but my guard is down. I think of you and I miss you. And then I want to kick myself for saying I still love you.

Not the you now. I am still in love with the man who sat at my bedside for three days when I was in the hospital. The man who defended me when someone dared to insult me. The man who carried my wheelchair through the sand down to the beach when I broke my foot. The man who protected my children when their own father wanted to do them harm. Where is that man? Where are you?

I have to remember that you allowed other women to violate our intimate space. That you stopped defending me and started to assault me with the very words you once protected me from. Instead of honoring me as your wife, you ridiculed me to others. You told me not to say anything to or about your beloved K or your new love M. Admonished me not to say anything about them or to them. All the while you assailed me. You once told me that you treated me too mean and that I deserved better. You are right. On both counts. When I think of these things what is left of my heart breaks even more. The lies, the cheating, the pain. I almost cannot bear it. I crumble from the inside out.

But when I lie down at night I remember that we used to go to sleep holding hands. That you would hold my face in your hands after making love and tell me "You're so pretty!". You appreciated and were not threatened by my ambition and intelligence, and it made you proud. You said no one would love you or take care of you like I did. (And no one will.). And I turn to your side of the bed in the middle of my sleep and look for you. I want to hold your hand, kiss your sleeping eyes. But you are not there. You will never be there again.

I know with every fiber of my being that there are times your guard maybe comes down and you miss the old us too. I feel it in my core. We are at opposite ends of this continent. And at these times we are closer to each other than we've been in a long time. The longing for you is so strong sometimes I almost collapse.

When people ask me if I am married or single I say I was married to a wonderful man. A man who loved me, and who I loved completely. But he died. You died. And I mourn the death of that man and of a love that once filled my entire being. A love that gave me a safe place in this sometimes scary and dark universe. I want to hold you. I want to kiss you. I want to feel the passion we shared once again.

I miss you, buddy. The old you.

We shared so many wonderful emails and phone chats. You said your feelings were strong and wonderful and so were mine. We were so, so excited about meeting. We missed each other, but had never met in person. We even had a song that described our first meeting and our first kiss which we were looking forward to so much.

Then when one conversation shows we have different points of view (on a subject not all that important), you give up. You tell me you have turned back to cautious and reserved. You said you were no longer convinced I was the one. After all of our deep communications and closeness, do you think I wanted to meet a man who was being “reserved” in his feelings?

So now that time has passed by, I will ask you questions to think about. Was that caution worth it? The best things in life involve some risk or they are not worth much. Maybe I was worth it, but you will never know. How long are you going to reserve your feelings before you can open up your heart again? Maybe I was your last chance and you passed it up! How could you ruin “our chance” ? The timing was so right. We were so right. What a fool you are!!!

For 2 weeks I have been checking this email account to see if you have come to your senses. I kept hoping for an email telling me you were sorry. Telling me you want to throw away the caution and reserve. Telling me you want to take the chances and risks and go for the UNEXPECTED LOVE that might await you. For now, I give up.

I hope you treat your wife as well as you treated me, because I can tell you...the way you made me feel, I want to feel that way everyday. Your wife is a very lucky woman and I hope she realizes it. Every woman should feel that attractive everyday.

As for my apology...I am sorry if I come across rude or angry with you...this is my way of trying to get over my feelings for you. It is very frusterating as I am a person who goes after what I want.
