Lost and Found Inc. offers a continuum of care. Education is a significant component in that continuum, and so we offer effective GED test preparation classes. A GED has proven value in redirecting one’s life and future. According to the Colorado Literacy Research Initiative, of GED graduates surveyed:
86% reported improved psychological health after earning their GED (more satisfied with life, able to set more realistic goals, more open to change, better communicators, more respectful of other opinions); 77% reported more participation in educational and cultural activities; 66% reported pursuing college degrees and encouraging others to stay in school; 42% reported improvement in personal finances.
These classes can be free for people of all ages who are in addiction recovery or who have had recovery services sometime during the past year. For those individuals, we will also pay for the final GED exam through our Access to Recovery funds. Other students who are interested in the GED service, but not in addiction recovery, can access these classes for a nominal daily fee.
