****To Anyone that Finds or Lost a Pet**** (Metro Area)

On Friday my dog ran out of the back gate and was GONE! Luckily, there are still good people in this world and they took him in and called me from my flyers. Here is my advice:
1. Saturate your area with COLOR photos/flyer of the missing pet. Put LOST or FOUND on it. Offer a reward, any reward. I put up 100 in 7 hours!
2. Get all your friends and family to walk the neighborhood looking.
3. Email or fax the flyer to EVERY shelter and vet clinic w/i 10 miles of your home.
4. Personally visit each shelter; get your family to help.
5. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY.
6. If you find a LOST pet, hold on to it. DO NOT take it to the "kill" shelters. Give the owner time to put up flyers, ads, and posting. Aurora shelter advised me that an animal that comes in w/ NO Collar and NO chip has 3 days. Then they are put up for adoption. After the 7 days of up for adoption they are DEAD!!!! If you have the means to keep it and feed it, do so. Give the family time to notify everyone their pet is gone.
