Donations Needed Mother of 3 needs help with legal fees
Please help if you can. My lawyers name is Stephen Harkess with Stein & Associates, LLC (720)904-9152. He wants a $1500 retainer fee. I left my controlling and abusive husband. I have no access to any of the bank accounts. Two of my children & I are staying with friends and desperately need financial support. Please see the story below:

Abusive and controlling husband moved in his mother. Both have been physically, mentally and emotionally harming the children ages 5, 8 and 11.
March 23rd the children told their mother what has been going on. Mother-in-law denied but was asked to refrain from interacting with the older children because they were afraid of her. She became irate and proceeded to lean down into the 8 yr olds face, who was laying on the couch curled up in a ball and sucking her thumb, and intimidated her. Mom told mother-in-law to get away from her child several times, but mother-in-law refused. Mom then pushed mother in law away from the 8 yr old. Mother-in-law stumbled and fell on her rear end. Mom called ambulance because mother in law wouldn’t let her help her up and she wouldn’t answer if she was ok.
Mom was arrested for physical abuse to an elderly person at risk. Mom was bailed out of jail and went to get a restraining order on husband and mother-in-law and found out that husband and mother-in-law already got one on her, and they got custody of the 4 yr old. She told the judge that she had the 4 yr old in her custody and asked what to do, he said since she hadn't been served yet there was no problem, but encouraged her to contact the sheriffs dept. to make arrangements to give the 4 yr old to her husband.
She did so immediately, but the sheriff told her that he was having trouble getting a hold of her husband to take the child. The phones were disconnected and at work he was moved around and when he was at home he refused to answer the door.
Finally the sheriff served mom with the restraining order but left the 4 yr old in her custody, and when mom asked if she was going to be in violation of her restraining order the Sheriff told her no because they couldn’t make contact with dad. And that he made several attempts.
Mom continued to call the Sheriffs dept everyday, she even called the court clerk to ask for advice on what to do since she still had the 4 yr old in her custody and the restraining order said she couldn’t be within 100 yrds.
Then after 10 days of this and the 4 yr olds birthday, making her now 5, the police showed up and arrested her for being in violation of her restraining order.
Not one of the 3 police agencies that mom called over and over for advice and confirmation are willing to help, in fact it seems that when the sheriff served her with the restraining order in the first place, he knew he was placing her in violation and didn’t care.
While in jail for the violation of the restraining order the permanent protective hearing occurred on 4-11-08. The Mom had no legal counsel and was taken into the court in handcuffs. The Judge ruled in favor of the Husband and Mother-in-law, giving them temporary custody of the 5 year old for 4 months. This was a horrible blow to the Mom and the 2 other children. Since then the 8 year old, whom has shared a room with the 5 year old since her birth and does everything together with her, has been devastated and cried herself to sleep almost every night. The Mom doesn't want to let the children over to the Husbands house for fear of abuse, cannot have 5 year old over to see her sisters and can't call Husband to make any kind of arrangements due to the restraining order. Thus the need for money to get an attorney.
