Auditions will be held November 17, 2009 for children ages 8-10 years old.
International Ballet School is holding auditions for full scholarships 1 � hour ballet classes per week for the period of January, 2009 through June 12, 2010. This opportunity is supported by Classical Dance Arts Foundation, a not for profit organization. During the audition we will be looking for students with good physique, flexibility, musicality, and enthusiasm! An important component of our program is performing which is why we have developed a professional children�s performing group called International Youth Ballet. IYB has quickly become a favorite children�s performing group in our community. The company does 2 productions a year at the beautiful Newman Center�s Gates Concert Hall at Denver University. The first is the holiday classic the Nutcracker December 4th, 5th and 6th 2009 and the second will be a Mid Summer Night�s Dream June 12th and 13th 2010. Both productions offer our students the real theater experience with a beautiful theater and professionally designed sets and costumes. But the most important aspects come from learning to be a part of a professional production which includes learning choreography, working as a group to create a quality production, working with choreographers, ballet coaches, stage managers, and learning that hard work and dedication can create something far beyond the typical recital so many other schools produce While this is a trial program, our intention is to continue indefinitely with subsidized lessons for the duration of your child�s dance training up to 18 years of age. IBS has already established itself as a internationally recognized school for the training of young dancers, it is now our hope to expand the number of young people that we can help train and nurture into dancers. This year student Claire Davis accepted a full year scholarship at The Princess Grace Dance Academy in Monaco and student Stephen Achziger accepted a full year scholarship to the Zurich Ballet Academy in Switzerland.

It looks like an ordinary warehouse on the outside but it is truly another world once you enter. This Class is a musically infused moving meditation that invites you on the journey to reclaim your power. It is eclectic in that it draws upon various genres of movement and new thought philosophy. This moving meditation inspires us to dance our stories, realizing the illusion of limitedness and awakening to the truth of our being. This process utilizes five principals: Recognition, Remembering, Releasing, Reclaiming and Rejoicing. Along with these principals we will focus on the tenets of surrender, non-judgment and acceptance.

Each individual has a story and a unique journey. Free dance is primary, but guidance is offered throughout the moving meditation to facilitate the richest experience possible.

Are you an aspiring machinist? Do you want to learn to use a mill? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then you will want to check out the Machining with a Mill 5 class series at Club Workshop! We'll get you started on the right foot!

Series Overview: Machining with a Mill (Manual to CNC)

This series of classes will get you the skills you need to empower your inner machinist (with the mill... stay tuned for lathe empowerment). While it may take many years to hone you machining skills, at Club Workshop we like to get people going and give them the opportunity to "have a go". Our Machining with a Mill class series includes 5 classes (one per week) where you'll have the opportunity to become familiar with the Mill, use it in manual operations, then proceed to use the mill via its Computer controlled (CNC) capabilities.

Machining 101: Manual Milling Introduction
Machining 102: Manual Milling - Drilling, Tapping
Machining 201: CNC Milling Introduction & Canned Cycle Usage

RESTORATIVE YOGA offers access to deep levels of relaxation and stress relief. Each class teaches supported Hatha yoga postures using props such as blankets, blocks and eye pillows (I provide these props). A Restorative class provides an opportunity to bring openness and release to the body without the painful 'edge' associated with most forms of yoga. It is especially beneficial to women as many poses help with the menstrual cycle, relieve the stresses of pregnancy and help to balance the hormones for women in menopause. However, all bodies, including those experiencing chronic pain or recovering from an injury or illness, can benefit from Restorative yoga. A complete sequence will move the spine in all directions, unless an injury or a condition prevents this. The supported poses offer students an alternative or modified way to practice yoga, especially if the student is stressed or fatigued.
