There are no major issues with this machine, however, I never learned how to use the tool setter, so that may not work. I found it very simple to set the tools manually, so I never needed it. Also, if you run the rapids above 50% for a long time, the X-axis will give an overload alarm. It was like that when I bought it, and I simply run it at 30% rapid, which is plenty fast enough. Besides those minor things, this machine works perfectly, and I use it almost every day. The only reason I am selling it is because I need the floor space.
If you know anything about CNC lathes, you know that MAZAK has the easiest control in the world to learn. It took me only one day, not knowing anything about it to write a simple program, and start cutting parts. This machine would be great for someone just starting out, or for a shop who needs another machine to crank out parts all day long. So far, I have made a little more than a million dollars in parts on this one machine! With a bar puller and the parts catcher, you set this machine up with a 5 foot bar, and let it rip. Come back in about an hour, and you got a big pile of finished parts.
I just sent the entire control and spindle drive controller back to mitsubishi for a complete overhaul. They have a 1 year warranty on service/repair, and there is about 10 months left on that warranty. Mitsubishi and MAZAK still give free technical support on every machine they ever made. If you need service, they will tell you how to get that done that as well. Their customer support is truely amazing. That is probably one of the best reasons to own a MAZAK.
If you need training, I am offering the buyer of this lathe a full 8 hour day of training in my shop. You come out here, pay for it, and I show you how to run this machine from A to Z. Ask any questions you want. Then, you have to line up transport (18 wheeler) and I will rent a big forklift and load it for you for $600 extra. You will need another big forklift on your end to unload it. It weighs about 9,000 pounds. It is about 13 feet long from the chip conveyor to the left side of the machine, about 5 feet deep, and about 6 feet tall at the control.
This auction does not include any tooling, but if you need some tools, I have a few that I am willing to let go with this machine for a fair price.
Of course shipping and loading is up to the buyer, but I figured I had to say it here just to clarify.
